Julie’s passion for the beauty industry goes beyond creating great hair—she’s dedicated to growing people, building community, and elevating the profession. After more than 20 years behind the chair, Julie has shifted her focus to leading her team and guiding the company’s vision.
She continues to prioritize education and innovation, believing that staying on top of trends, techniques, and business development is essential to inspiring others. Whether supporting her team at Hair Company & Spa or mentoring future professionals, Julie leads with heart, creativity, and purpose.
In 2017, she partnered with Cortney Leduc to open The Salon Professional Academy in Maplewood, MN, a Redken-endorsed beauty school where she helps shape the next generation of salon leaders. Julie splits her time between the salon and academy, continually working to raise the standard of excellence in the beauty industry.

Cortney Leduc

Cortney is passionate about creativity, education, and helping others feel their best. She loves thinking outside the box, creating customized color transformations, and designing looks that complement each guest’s individual style. Cortney specializes in hair color, Brazilian Blowouts, and multiple methods of hair extensions, with a strong focus on understanding her guests’ goals and creating a personalized experience from consultation to finished result.
Dedicated to lifelong learning, Cortney has invested heavily in advanced education throughout her career. She attended the Redken Exchange in New York City to expand her expertise in color and later returned to further refine her cutting techniques. She also attended many Redken’s premier educational events, the Redken Symposium in Las Vegas, gaining inspiration and knowledge from some of the industry’s top educators.
Outside of the salon, Cortney is a proud mom to two amazing daughters and treasures every moment spent with them.
In 2016, Cortney embarked on a new adventure alongside her business partner and friend, Julie Mitchell. Together, they joined The Salon Professional Academy franchise and opened The Salon Professional Academy Maplewood in October 2017. As co-owner and leader, Cortney is passionate about shaping the future of the beauty industry by helping students develop the skills, confidence, and professionalism needed to achieve their dreams. While she still enjoys working behind the chair, her greatest fulfillment comes from mentoring the next generation of beauty professionals and watching them succeed.

Taylor entered the industry in 2019, after attending The Salon Professional Academy. She enjoys color services, waxing, and eyelash extensions. Taylor is also Brazilian Blowout and eyelash extension certified. She loves to fit her guests with natural, beautiful, and full lashes. Taylor has always been artistic and is drawn to the creative nature of the industry. She loves to help her clients achieve their hair dreams and feel beautiful while doing so. She also loves to educate her clients on their specific hair needs to ensure salon quality hair every day.
